I find that I, and the students I teach, often need the reminder to “Keep it simple, silly!” In an age of rapidly advancing and changing technology, instantaneous information, heavily scheduled lives, and constant stimuli it is easy to get swept into the raucous flow. The goal of this blog is to step outside of the river’s rapids and pluck out the simplicities that are worth pausing and examining more closely.

In amassing simple images, insights, ideas, words, and sounds over time perhaps we will find that our understanding as educators and people has become something complex and beautiful without the chaos. That the mountains are not barriers but challenges that can be surmounted one simple step at a time. —Colleen Schilly
